Hi everyone! It's been a busy and exhausting few weeks for me: I had the silver anniversary party of my parents which was pretty hectic but also nice to see my entire family for the first time this year. Immediately after that I got the flu which isn't really gone yet. Our friends had their second baby exactly that weekend where we've been out of the country and I was a bit sad to have missed this great event. When I went shopping for a baby gift the other day and when I held this tiny baby boy in my arms my biological clock went straight to "can't wait to have a baby myself" mood. Considering that my mother had already given birth to three children when she was my age, this inner feeling may as well be genetically predisposed. ;) In spite of everything, I still made it to think about upcoming posts which will include an article about "the way we eat" and violence against women for which I already did some research.
An upcoming post will be about the disease Epilepsy which is a topic close to my heart. I suffered from a rare form of Benign Epilepsy during prepubertal adolescence which was a very traumatic experience for me and caused most of my present fears such as claustrophobia, fear of heights and deep water. Before my epilepsy I was probably one of the most fun fearless females on earth. Still, most people don't know much or have misconceptions about this disease which affects about 50 million people worldwide. So far, there hasn't been done enough research and there is no cure. It's about time to change that!
I hope all of you enjoyed the last days of summer! Stay tuned!xoxo
Sarah
